How to Create a Professional Email Account

1. Open cPanel and go to Email Accounts. Choose the domain you want to use and select the option to create a new mailbox.

2. Create the address. Enter the mailbox name, such as info, sales or your name, then set a strong password. The number of professional email accounts available depends on your hosting plan.

3. Open Webmail or connect an email app. After the mailbox is created, you can use Webmail or configure a desktop or mobile mail application with the incoming and outgoing server settings shown in your hosting account.

4. Test sending and receiving. Send a message to an external address and reply back to confirm both directions work. If delivery fails, check the mailbox settings, domain DNS and available storage before contacting support. Using an address such as name@yourbusiness.com helps keep business communication consistent with your domain.

Check your plan allowance

The current hosting plans include between 5 and 50 professional email accounts depending on the selected plan.

Create an email account

  1. Sign in to your hosting account and open cPanel.
  2. Open Email Accounts. The exact label can vary slightly by cPanel version.
  3. Select the domain you want the mailbox to use.
  4. Enter the mailbox name, for example sales, support or a staff member's name.
  5. Create a strong password and choose an appropriate mailbox storage limit where that option is available.
  6. Save or create the account.

Read and connect your email

You can use the webmail option provided through cPanel or connect the mailbox to a supported mail application. Use the connection settings shown by cPanel for the specific account instead of guessing server names or ports.

Professional email practices

  • Use role-based addresses such as billing@, sales@ or support@ when appropriate.
  • Use unique passwords for every mailbox.
  • Remove or secure old employee accounts promptly.
  • Do not use hosting email for unsolicited bulk messaging.
Need help? If you can create the mailbox but cannot connect a device, send support the email address and the mail application you are configuring. Do not send the mailbox password.
